The one place on campus everyone knows about is the bookstore. Visited by hundreds of students a day, it's one place on campus you could navigate with your eyes closed. The bookstore on campus is a very convenient "one stop shop". They sell a variety of items that students use daily. But today it is not known for just books, the bookstore has much more to offer and I'm about to show you through my blog just what that is.

Technology ...
The bottom floor of the UA bookstore is dedicated to the technology section. Along with technology, the bottom floor is where all the students pick up their required textbooks for classes. I believe the idea of putting technology next to the textbooks was money. All students must go downstairs to buy their textbooks, so having to pass expensive technology draws the students to purchase these pricey items. This was a way for our school to make money, but also because many students do in fact need these technological devices. The bookstore sells many different kinds of equipment; laptops, desktops, ipods, ipads, cameras and printers. Along with the technological devices, the bookstore offers many accessories on the side. Some of those being printer ink, chargers, memory cards, USB devices, keyboards, cases, headphones and many more. The bookstore also provides technical support for the community of the UA. For instance, when my computer crashed on me half way through my first semester, I rushed to the bookstore in a frantic to get it fixed. I was about to purchase a new one, until one of the employees told me to check out the support team. I made my way to the back of the store and told them my problem. After an hour passed by, I had a working computer again. It was amazing and free! This is very convenient to the students at the University of Arizona because not many people have cars, and the closest place to get electronics fixed would be Best Buy's geek squad. It would be a pain and a fortune to take a taxi to Best Buy, so the support team downstairs is very helpful.
Go Greek!
Greek life represents 13% of the University of Arizona. Greek life consists of fraternities and sororities. They are a big part of our community and have a wall dedicated to them in the bookstore. This wall is in the back of the bookstore but stands out to those walking through the bookstore. First off, there is "Greek" in big letters across the top, which automatically states what that wall is going to be of. The bright lights around the section really shows off the space as well. Instead of the blue and red you see all over the bookstore, this section is very colorful, this attracts the shoppers' attention. In this section, everything is personalized in every sorority and fraternity here on campus. There is a range of accessories to purchase, those including, keychains, wallets, picture frames, note pads, notebooks, pens and pencils, cups and many more items. Many of these items are good presents to students and/ or themselves. Students on campus like to show off which part of greek life they are a part of and this is a good way to. Many of the girls have their greek letters on their backpacks and I automatically know which sorority they belong too, which is just a fun fact to know. Although a small percentage of our school is in greek life, it still is very important and a big part of a lot of students lives.
Glamour
What's that right in front of my eyes as I walk into the bookstore? That would be a make-up counter, Clinique. What bookstore in the US carries make-up? Well the University of Arizona does. This brightly lit, glass countered attracts all students, mostly females, all day. The bright lights really attracts a shoppers eye when walking in. Since most of the upstairs floor is red and blue for spirit, Clinique really stands out. This shop is very convenient to many because most of the students on campus don't have cars to drive somewhere to purchase make-up, but the bookstore makes that possible. The university is making it as easy as possible for students to make the "one-stop shop". The make-up counter comes in handy to many; mostly girls of course. The clinique counter sells eyeliner, foundation, mascara, make-up remover, face wash and many more wonderful products for an affordable price. Although in this photo, the make-up counter is empty, it usually is crowded with girls picking up the latest lipgloss or other items. This is a great idea to have in a bookstore basically because of the convenience, and because we all know how much girls love make-up.
Time To Shop
When I walk into the bookstore at the University of Arizona the first thing that catches my eye is the rather large section of clothing. The clothing department takes up a majority of the top floor, but all the space is used very well in showing off our school pride. This photo was taken in the afternoon, so not many students are here at the moment, but during the day this place is very crowded. You sometimes think the bookstore should make the clothing store bigger just because of how crowded it gets. It is definitely the most popular place to shop on campus for arizona attire. The clothing section has everything to offer, T-shirts, sweatpants, tank-tops, sweatshirts, shorts, dresses, socks and even shoes, everything for both men and women. Like I said , many students get their arizona apparel here because they sell the best quality of clothing. I know I would get my shirts and sweaters here for the football games during the season. Along with clothes, I purchased pom-poms, hair clips and spray paint to have a lot of spirit for the games. This little stuff is scattered throughout the clothes to make students buy little non-needed things, which gives the book store more money. Also a huge part of the clothing department is dedicated to athletics, a lot of the students buy their clothes here that they wear to the recreation center and/or sports practices. The clothes are not just geared towards students, there is a section for parents, grandparents and/or alumni to buy some new apparel. Last but not least, the bookstore offers dressing rooms to try the clothing on. If it doesn't fit, an employee will assist you in getting the right size. You really feel like you are in a mall shopping because of the service the bookstore offers. Also the look of the section, as you can see in the photo the bright blue lights that are above the clothing, along with the red tables. The architecture really adds to the bookstore and shows off our colors and pride of being a Wildcat. I think that having a clothing department inside of a bookstore is a great idea. It's easy, fast and affordable.
Be A Wildcat
The bookstore is not just a bookstore anymore. It used to be a place to get your required textbooks but now it is a home to all. Not just students use the bookstore anymore, but rather the community of Tucson. Every section is different and has something more to offer as you turn the corner. Come experience it, and become a Wildcat.
