The bottom floor of the UA bookstore is dedicated to the technology section. Along with technology, the bottom floor is where all the students pick up their required textbooks for classes. I believe the idea of putting technology next to the textbooks was money. All students must go downstairs to buy their textbooks, so having to pass expensive technology draws the students to purchase these pricey items. This was a way for our school to make money, but also because many students do in fact need these technological devices. The bookstore sells many different kinds of equipment; laptops, desktops, ipods, ipads, cameras and printers. Along with the technological devices, the bookstore offers many accessories on the side. Some of those being printer ink, chargers, memory cards, USB devices, keyboards, cases, headphones and many more. The bookstore also provides technical support for the community of the UA. For instance, when my computer crashed on me half way through my first semester, I rushed to the bookstore in a frantic to get it fixed. I was about to purchase a new one, until one of the employees told me to check out the support team. I made my way to the back of the store and told them my problem. After an hour passed by, I had a working computer again. It was amazing and free! This is very convenient to the students at the University of Arizona because not many people have cars, and the closest place to get electronics fixed would be Best Buy's geek squad. It would be a pain and a fortune to take a taxi to Best Buy, so the support team downstairs is very helpful.
